Take life as it is.......don't surrender

In today's world, many people have become so obsessed with conforming to the established standards of a good and a happy life that they find it impossible to even contemplate their world without it. There are many pre-set notions of a happy life.......Loads of money, abundant power, Lavish house, Stable marriage , Great Sex, Good looking partner etc etc. If any person is seriously deprived of all or any one of the above things due to fate or circumstances, he considers himself as an inferior human being..........Either he should get every happiness he asked for or his existence is futile.

On a daily basis, I see reports in newspapers /TV of people ending their lives because they were going through a bitter divorce ; or they failed in an important exam; or they lost their near and dear ones; or they were going through a financially difficult period..............( The increase in Suicide rates , especially in youth , is alarming)

It is true that we go through some really traumatic experiences in our lives at some point of time or another; some create such voids which cannot be filled for the rest of our lives. But why some people cannot overcome them and accept them as a part of life....WHY THEY HAVE TO GIVE UP AND SURRENDER?

If someone thinks that his/her life is not worth living because he/she did not get that job or could not marry that girl/guy or could not enjoy the simple pleasures of life because he/she was that poor, that person needs to look around . The world is full of grief and pain.....people go through unimaginable disappointments and traumas....There is no limit to grief in this world as there is no limit to happiness.....So, if there are always some people who are happier than us, there are always people who are in worst circumstances than us. And some of these people put up a great fight against all odds to live.......

I would take the example of Lance Armstrong, a Legend in the world of sports. He is revered around the world not just because of his sporting accomplishments but because he overcame a disease like testicular cancer and became a world champion cyclist.

But even those common folks who, despite serious odds and troubles, continue to live their lives are champions in their own right. Because they did not give up.......

The supreme force above us did not promise us anything before sending us to this world......So, shouldn’t we take life as what has been given to us and live it to the fullest?

Let me know what you think about this....
